Barley Sweet (Orzo antico)
If you want to know the origin of this sweet you have to go back in time. The fine ingredients and absence of enhances allows the production of this sweet all time. The little imperfections, various dimensions, the almost amber colour, that characterise this sweet, is due to an unchanged way of manufacturing during the years: baked directly in fire, cooled down in marble tables and cut by wise confectioners. They are noted for their optimal emollient characteristics on clearing the voice and throat. Produced in Tuscany and almost impossible to find.

This friend did not have the sufficient money and decided to knits the debit with the prescription of the Sesame crunch!

Today the descendants of this clever man have a well-known company in one of the richest quarters of the Big Apple, Brooklyn, that still produces this product according to the old prescription.

Fondant Sweet Fruit Flavour (Fondante frutta)
The "fondant" originally was a glace for decorating cakes. Later on, this "syrup" was strained in drawed forms in an expanse of starch and then it was cooled slowly. Once made solid, the starch pulver was blown away and there remained friable and soft cubes of sugar. Finally the cubes have been sprinkled repeatedly with a liquid on sugarbase in order to form a thin crust which protects the filling. .
